A Prayer

Oh Lord, thank you for guiding us through last night.
Were it not for your benevolence, I would have been filled with the desire to pray to the unholy...
The unholy porcelain god.
You guided me home, straight to the Vitamin Water and into a spinning sleep.

You oh Lord are good.
Even though I drank a bottle of wine. Five beers. Three Tanqueray and Tonics. Two shots. And likely more because I just stopped counting...
You have spared the foolish of all ill effects save for a mild hangover.
Lord, you are good.

As the foolhardy set out for another night on the town, I pray that your kindness extends a second night.
For I walk through the valley of the shadow of drunk
I fear no evil. Unless it is mixed with rum.
