The Loquacious Namby Pamby

After arguing a motion, the class gets to critique the two parties. This was part of mine:
Classmate #1: You use a lot of words. Let’s see, I wrote them down: cunning ruse, subterfuge, lear-ned. I don’t know what subterfuge means. If I am ever a judge, I won’t know what subterfuge means. I just think that you shouldn’t use those words, they just seem…what’s the word…
Me: Snooty?
Classmate #2: Pretentious?
Classmate #3: Arrogant?
Classmate #1: Verbose.
Judge: [After a reflective pause] I liked the use of those words.
