A Partner's Prerogative

Several attornies in my office recently got privacy screens for their computers [I raided the office of a departing attorney and got mine a long time ago]. These individuals couldn't wait to protect their work product/privacy/multiple IM conversations from the prying eye of the casual client (or from a nosy Namby Pamby) passing by.

Associate: This is great, we all should have these, you can't see what I'm doing! Partner, you really should get one of these.
Partner: I really don't care if people see what I'm doing on my computer.
Associate: The peer pressure won't convince you?
Partner: It's not peer pressure if I don't consider you my peer.
